The Southold Historical Society is inviting artists to submit 10″x10″ artwork themed: “Celebrate America — North Fork Legacy in the Spirit of 1776” for the museum’s Ten Squared upcoming online fundraising exhibition and art sale.
“Artists can explore what this year’s 250th anniversary of the United States represents to them.,” according to the Historical Society. “Through the lens of local history, civic pride, and community, artists are encouraged to reflect on themes of freedom, resilience, and shared heritage, highlighting the North Fork’s historical and cultural contributions to the nation’s founding and continued evolution.”
This non-juried exhibition is open to all artists, who may submit up to three works measuring 10” x 10” in any medium. Artwork must be dry and ready to hang, with a label attached to the back listing the artist’s name, title, and medium.
All works will be sold for $100, with half of each sale benefiting Southold Historical Museum.
Artwork may be delivered to the Museum office in the Prince Building between Monday, June 15 and Friday, June 19, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with accompanying artwork submission form.
The exhibition will be presented online from July 1 through July 31, 2026. Unsold artwork may be picked up during Museum office hours, Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, during the week of August 3 through Friday, August 7, 2026. Any unsold work not retrieved by Friday, August 14, 2026, will be recycled.
