East Hampton to Hold More Sessions on Airport – Now Virtual

Update 9/9/21:

The East Hampton Town Board recently decided to return to virtual meetings as of Tuesday, September 7.

Accordingly, the in-person airport public engagement meetings scheduled at LTV Studios on Thursday, September 9, and at the Montauk Playhouse on September 13, both starting at 7 p.m., will instead be conducted via Zoom.

Those who signed up to participate will receive email notifications of the change with the zoom link.

The Zoom links are posted on the town website

Orignal Story:

The expiration of FAA grant assurances provides an opportunity for East Hampton to re-envision the future of its municipal airport in Wainscott.

The town is organizing four public workshops over a two-week period in September, which will focus on sharing and discussing essential facts regarding the airport, and gathering ideas and opinions from stakeholders and the public at large.

Each workshop will start with a brief presentation, followed by small group discussions. Similar content and format make it unnecessary to attend more than one.

Pre-registration is highly encouraged, but not required. In-person venues have limited seating, and unregistered attendees will be admitted on a “first come first served” basis.

An Eventbrite pre-registration form will be posted on the town website for all Zoom and in-person workshops.

Workshop #1 will be held on Thursday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. at  LTV Studios, 75 Industrial Road in  Wainscott. Workshop #2 will be held virtually on Friday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. Workshop #3 will be held on Monday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Montauk Playhouse, 240 Edgemere St. in Montauk. Workshop #4 will be held virtually on Monday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. Links to the virtual sessions will be posted at ehamptonny.gov. Masks are required for all in-person sessions.

Written comments can be submitted to the Town Board at ReEnvisionHTO@ehamptonny.gov or East Hampton Town Clerk, 159 Pantigo Road, East Hampton, NY 11937
