The mission of the Accabonac Protection Committee (APC) is to protect, enhance and restore the ecological integrity of Accabonac Harbor and its watershed.

As part of that mission, on July 17 the APC will present a public forum entitled “Marsh Madness at Accabonac Harbor” that will discuss research in Accabonac marshes, sea level rise impacts on the marsh, managing the marsh, everything you wanted to know about marsh mosquitoes and more!

The forum will be held from 6pm to 8pm on July 17, 2019 at Ashawagh Hall (780 Springs Fireplace Rd, East Hampton, NY 11937). Refreshments are included.

Speakers:

  • Nicole Maher: Wetlands Specialist, Senior Coastal Scientist, The Nature Conservancy-New York.
  • Joyce Novak, Director of the Peconic Estuary Program
  • Tamson Yeh: Pest Management Specialist, Cornell Cooperative Extension.

The Q&A will be moderated by Dr. Judith Weis, Professor Emerita of Biological Science, Rutgers University. Ample time will be allowed for questions from the audience. Information on what residents and visitors can do to protect our environment and themselves will be available.
