multi-media musical presentation entitled Climate Reality Amplified will be shown and discussed at the Montauk Library on Thursday, November 21st.  During a 24 hour period, from November 20 to November 21, 2019, the world will be talking about climate change and what people can do about it. This singular global event, entitled 24 Hours of Reality: Truth in Action, will be an international conversation about the climate crisis. The multi-media presentation,Climate Reality Amplified, highlights the scientific evidence of the climate crisis and outlines problems, data, and solutions. The program will allow Montauk and East End residents to respond to points of view associated with climate change. Hosted & Narrated by Kathleen Kirkwood, a fashion sustainability entrepreneur, and Chair Recycling Committee East Hampton who has been a Climate Reality Project Leader since 2018.  Produced and curated by Cate Rogers, Chair, Peconic Region, NY Chapter Climate Reality Project. Music and Artistic Director: KEMOL TAYLOR-aka DJPricei$right.

Climate Reality’s Chairman is Al Gore, former Vice-President of the USA. His associates, the Climate Reality Leadership Corps, is a global network of activists trained to talk about the impact of climate change and what can be done to support the shift to clean, renewable energy.  Their objective is to engage audiences-particularly younger members of the community-by means of a musically engaging large screen slide show presentation.  While most viewers were deeply moved by Al Gore’s award-winning documentary films, AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH (2006) & AN INCONVENIENT SEQUEL: TRUTH TO POWER (2017), combining selected images from these films with music and lyric in the new format has proven to increase retention of information.
