MLCA: How Do We Protect the Heart of Mattituck @ Mattituck Presbyterian Church
August 28, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

• This meeting has been moved to the Mattituck Presbyterian Church from the American Legion Hall due to flooding at the Legion.
Monday, August 28, 2017, 6:30-8:30 p.m
For more than a year, MLCA’s Land Use Committee has explored the range of impacts that land use and zoning have on a community. At our August 28 meeting we’ll share the Land Use Committee’s report and want to hear your feedback about it.
The committee’s report assesses the environmental, development, and traffic impacts that come with growth in a land use/zoning framework (i.e., Mattituck) that hasn’t been updated in a generation. The report also will issue three requests to the Town of Southold to move local zoning toward better, more sustainable use; to better meet growing traffic demands; and, to start a public conversation about what land use and zoning is best for the “heart” of Mattituck, the area between New Suffolk and Wickham avenues along SR 25/Main Road.
Also, we’ll share what we know about a new 20,000-square-foot store proposed for the corner of Main Road and New Suffolk Avenue.
Make plans to attend and get informed.
