Lake Agawam Conservancy (LAC) is dedicated to cleaning and preserving Lake Agawam and its watershed. This educational forum will include presentations by local experts who have decades of hands-on experience with creating beautiful, healthy ecosystems on clients’ properties. Topics will include a brief review of why our water system is vulnerable to contamination and sources of contamination and best toxic free practices – soil management, water use, plant selection, buffers at water’s edge, and a comprehensive overview of integrated pest management (IPM).
10 AM – 1 PM: Lectures/Workshops – A Year in the Life of a Toxic Free Landscape with speakers including Kevin McDonald (The Nature Conservancy), Pat Nadosy (Botanist), Sean O’Neill (Peconic Baykeeper), Tony Piazza (Piazza Horticultural), Edwina von Gal (Perfect Earth Project), and Paul Wagner (Greener Pastures Organics)
1 PM – 1:30 PM: Lunch
1:30 PM – 2:30 PM: Q & A
