After a hiatus due to the pandemic, the Mattituck Chamber of Commerce’s First Fridays on Love Lane will be returning for the season May 3.

The event, during which Love Lane was shut to vehicle traffic and filled with music, food, beverages and shopping, returned for one night only in October of 2023.

“Everyone loved it.  It was like it never left, so of course we dove right back,” said Chamber President Terry McShane.

On Tuesday, April 23, the Southold Town Board approved permits for six First Friday sessions on the first Friday of the month, May through October, from 6 to 9 p.m., making this year’s event official.

The band Points East will perform at May’s First Friday.

Attendees can expect food from Love Lane Kitchen, Lombardi’s Market, Ammirati’s Deli, the Village Cheese Shop, goodfood., Braun’s Seafood, and Pookaberry Café, with more to follow, and beverages will be available from Eastern Front Brewing Co, from Roanoke Vineyard.

Love Lane shops including Mint, the Love Lane Sweet Shoppe and North Fork Fiber Arts will
be staying open for each event.

“These events are fun, family-friendly nights where friends and neighbors can enjoy an
easy night out in their town,” said Mr. McShane.

The event also affords an opportunity for other local Mattituck Chamber of Commerce member
businesses beyond Love Lane to showcase themselves at no additional cost, and the Chamber is encouraging their participation.

“We’d like to thank the Southold Town Board, The Southold Police Department for helping to make this happen and for keeping the road safe,” said Mr. McShane. “We look forward to seeing a lot of familiar faces (and new ones too) all summer long!”
