Kenney’s Beach Civic Association in Southold to Hold First-Ever Sunset Market

Note! Due to thunderstorms in the forecast, precisely at the time of the planned event, the Kenney’s Beach Sunset Market has been rescheduled to Saturday, August 15th, from 5 pm to sunset.

The Kenney’s/McCabe’s Beach Civic Association in Southold will hold its first-ever Kenney’s Beach Sunset Market on Saturday, July 18 from 5 p.m. to sunset in the Kenney’s Beach parking lot.

With support of the Southold Town Clerk’s Office and Southold Recreation Department, the organizers say “this will be an unprecedented event of this nature to take place at a Southold town beach.”

“Kenney’s Beach is already one of the most popular and festive places to enjoy the glorious North Fork sunsets,” says Civic Association Board member and local business owner Glen Hoffman. “We see this event as a way to amplify the special experience of Kenney’s Beach, while raising awareness of our vital organization, building community spirit and providing an opportunity for local small businesses and entrepreneurs.”

A variety of food and beverage offerings, as well as merchandise, art and artisan crafts will be represented. Kenney’s Beach is on the Long Island Sound at the end of Kenney’s Road in Southold.

Participating vendors include Little Ram Oysters, Little Fish Restaurant, NOFO Style, NOFOk’n Way, artist Melissa Hyatt, Forked Road Press and several other local purveyors and crafts-persons.

The event will also include a raffle and 50/50 in support of the Civic Association’s community activities.

The Kenney’s/McCabe’s Beach Civic Association is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the residential character and natural environment of the neighborhood surrounding Kenney’s and McCabe’s beaches, and to promoting and protecting the common interests of the area and its community members. “We are so excited to enhance the Kenney’s Beach experience. We look forward to welcoming community members as they cap off their day at the beach or kick off their evening sunset viewing,” says Bridget Rymer, Vice President of the Association.
