Bagpipers, bands and fire departments from across Long Island (and from as far away as Glens Falls) came together in Greenport Saturday for the Greenport Fire Department’s 180th Washington’s Birthday Parade. The weather was relatively balmy compared with other recent years — in the mid-30s, and the parade squeaked to an end just before an afternoon of snow turned to rain overnight.
