The Fifth Annual Southold WinterFest couldn’t have come on a more perfect winter day, Saturday, Feb. 21, sandwiched between a rainstorm and a blizzard in one of the most miserable winters in recent memory.
The event is organized each year by the Southold Town Economic Development Committee, whose goal is to “facilitate successful economic growth and revitalization of existing businesses in addition to seeking new commerce and cultural opportunities that complement the spirit and character of the community.” Among the committee’s goals are to lend the town’s support to long-term employment possibilities and to foster a diversified economic base.
