Streaming: Greenport Trustee Debate

Catch the final debate for Trustees for the Village of Greenport, broadcast live from the Greenport School.

Patrick Brennan, Lili Dougherty-Johnson, Monique Gohorel, William Swiskey and incumbent Trustee Jack Martilotta, are running for two seats on the board.

The Beacon livestreamed an earlier debate between the candidates for mayor last week.

This election has proven to be a contentious one, as all of the non-incumbent candidates were originally stricken from the ballot by the village clerk. The village board later reinstated their candidacy, a decision that was upheld by the New York State Supreme Court earlier this week.

Voters who are registered with the Suffolk County Board of Elections using an address already inside the Incorporated Village of Greenport are automatically registered to vote in Greenport. Anyone registered to vote at a location outside the village is not eligible to vote in village elections.

The village will be holding two voter registration days on Thursday,  March 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday, March 11 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Village Hall, 236 Third Street in Greenport Village. More details are available at villageofgreenport.org
