• There’s a 40 percent chance of rain after 9 a.m. today, with patchy fog before 9 a.m., mostly cloudy skies, and a high near 56, with light and variable winds becoming south 6 to 11 miles per hour in the morning. There’s a 40 percent chance of showers this evening, mainly before 11 p.m., with mostly cloudy skies overnight and a low around 44. Thanksgiving Day will be mostly sunny and windy, with a high near 53 degrees and a northwest wind 18 to 26 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 38 miles per hour. Friday will be sunny, with a high near 45.
• The Riverhead Town Board will hold its weekly work session, usually held on Thursdays, today at 10 a.m. due to tomorrow’s turkeyfest. A discussion of East End Disabilities is on the agenda.
• County and local police are expecting some drinking and carousing over the next few days due to the holiday. If you’re going out, be smart and take a taxi or a rideshare. Lyft and Uber are offering discounts for rides in Suffolk County this weekend. Lyft riders can use the promo code SUFFOLKCTY2019 to get $10 off a ride between midnight tonight and midnight Saturday, and Uber riders can use the code SAFERIDENY19 for $10 off a ride starting at 9 p.m. tonight and going through 3 a.m. tomorrow.
