Good Morning!

Brace yourself for the heat dome that will cover the area throughout this week. We’re expecting sunny skies today, with a high temperature near 80 degrees and a south wind 6 to 11 miles per hour. It will be mostly clear overnight, with a low around 66. Tuesday will be sunny, with a high near 86, and Wednesday will be sunny, with a high near 88. Temperatures top out at around 90 degrees by Friday and are expected to subside slightly to the mid-80s next weekend. We’ll be tracking this throughout the week.

A new outdoor sculpture exhibition opens next weekend on the grounds of Sylvester Manor on Shelter Island, featuring works by 25 East End artists, including some pieces that address the former slaveholding plantation’s past and others that promise a leave-no-trace future, using organic material found onsite that will biodegrade back into the landscape.
