Good Morning!

• Today will be sunny, with a high temperature near 80 degrees and a northeast wind around 6 miles per hour, becoming calm in the afternoon. It will be mostly clear overnight, with a low around 58. Friday will be sunny, with a high near 84 and Saturday will be partly sunny, with a high near 86.

• The East End’s Blue Water Task Force released its 2019 water quality report in early August 2020, which shows some key successes and some malingering problems in the tributaries that drain into our local bays. Read the full story in our sister publication, The Peconic Bathtub.

• OLA of Eastern Long Island has launched a Spanish-language survey to learn more about the mental health needs of Latino youth on the East End. They’re looking for community participation in the survey, which is online here.

• Suffolk County will also host a virtual meeting with gym and fitness center owners this afternoon at 2 p.m. to review guidance, provide clarifications and answer any questions to ensure each business is able to reopen safely. Those interested in participating should register here.

• The Southampton Town Board will discuss airport noise abatement, reassessment and beach/road end parking at its 10 a.m. work session this morning. Here’s the agenda.
