• We’re expecting increasing clouds today, with a high temperature near 82 degrees and a 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 5 p.m., with a northwest wind around 5 miles per hour becoming light and variable. • A crowd of supporters of a local law to guide public safety during immigration enforcement efforts, dressed in black, spoke up at the Riverhead Town Board’s Aug. 18 meeting asking the town to enter into conversations with Latino advocacy group OLA of Eastern Long Island. Read More.
• Riverhead Town has begun an enforcement action against the proposed Summerwind Farm, a 16-lot Aquebogue subdivision at 200 Peconic Bay Boulevard, after “town officials discovered that substantial site work had commenced without the required town subdivision approvals and building permits.” Read More.
