• Today will be sunny, with a high near 90 degrees but heat index values as high as 95, with a calm wind becoming southwest 5 to 8 miles per hour in the afternoon. Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 73. Tuesday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 87. Wednesday will be partly sunny, with a high near 87 and a 30 percent chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms.

• Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone will be in Greenport today to sign legislation that appropriates $237,000 to undertake a green infrastructure project, being constructed in a match with the Village of Greenport, which includes stormwater retention measures at four road ends, including at 4th Street.

• The Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival presents “American Dreams,” a series of new works by American composers, this evening at 6 p.m. at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill. More details are online here. [$35]

• The Hamptons Institute at Guild Hall in East Hampton kicks off this evening at 7 p.m. with a discussion on plastic pollution with Dr. Barbara HendrieDirector, North America-UN Environment; Dune Ives, Director, Lonely Whale; and Tierney Thys, PhD, Marine Biologist, Science Educator, and National Geographic explorer.
