Strong’s Submits Scaled-Back Yacht Storage Proposal

Strong's Marine has submitted a revised site plan for its proposed yacht storage buildings on Mattituck Inlet, scaling back the proposal to one 65,100-square-foot building designed to accommodate 56 yachts. The applicants say the project will also reduce the amount of sand removed from the site by 48 percent. The original proposal, first submitted in 2018, called for two roughly 50,000-square-foot buildings that would accommodate 88 yachts averaging 60 feet

Aquebogue’s Rural Corridor Faces Proposed Traffic Light, Office Building

Route 25 changes character distinctly when it crosses Route 105 eastbound, a line of demarcation that many see as the gateway to the North Fork. Riverhead Town's zoning acknowledges that this section of what's known as the Main Road, which has its origins at Main Street in Queens before wending its way through dozens of miles of strip malls and traffic lights, is a rural corridor. Planning Commission Disapproves Yacht Storage in Mattituck, Project To Be Revised

The Suffolk County Planning Commission has disapproved of Strong’s Yacht Center’s proposal to excavate a hillside to build two roughly 50,000-square-foot yacht storage buildings alongside Mattituck Inlet. The project is currently under coordinated review by the Southold Town Planning Board under the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA), and the Planning Commission’s disapproval is an advisory recommendation that can be overridden by the Town Planning Board.
