Autumn Olives: If You Can’t Beat Them, Then Eat Them with FLPG

August 9, 2015 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

The Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt’s third installment of their 2015 Sundays at Two series will bring Dana Hilbert to the Long Pond Greenbelt Nature Center.

Dana Hilbert took a liking to the Autumn Olive during her time in the Quality Parks Master Naturalist program. While in the program she focused on plants of the area and invasive species. In the class Dana will discuss how to collect and make Autumn Olive jam incorporating local honey as well as Essential Oils. She will also share other uses for Essential Oils such as green household cleaners. Refreshments provided.

Meet at the Long Pond Greenbelt Nature Center, 1061 Bridgehampton/Sag Harbor Tpk (one mile North of the SoFo museum & just North of Scuttle Hole Road. Look for the Open flag).

For more information contact Jean Dodds, 631.599.2391.
