Birding with Frank Quevedo – Coastal and Pelagic Birds
August 16, 2015 @ 9:00 am - 3:30 pm$49 – $75
Adults and Children 10+
Birding Leader: Frank Quevedo, Executive Director, South Fork Natural History Museum (SoFo)
Pelagic birds such as shearwaters, petrels, jaegers, and gannets are species that spend a significant portion of their lives on the open ocean, rarely venturing to land except to breed. These pelagic birds are powerful fliers that can remain aloft for hours while gliding or soaring. On this trip aboard a boat of the Viking Fleet, we’ll venture offshore, view some of these magnificent birds, and perhaps see a whale or porpoise in the process. Bring your binoculars, lunch, sunscreen, and Field Guide to Birds of Eastern North America, if you have one. Adults: $75, Children (10-12 years): $49. Limited enrollment. Advance reservations necessary.
