Family Fun: Hauling a Seine at Mashomack Preserve

May 24, 2014 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

$5 – $10

As the weather warms, the waters are coming alive. Come help give a hand pulling in a 300’ haul seine and get a close up look at the creatures and plants that live under the sea. A haul can bring in striped bass, bluefish, porgies, fluke, flounder, and several species of crab. This demonstration of a traditional East End fishing method is appropriate for both children and adults; bring the whole family. A marshmallow roast will follow the haul. Insect repellent suggested. $5/person, $10/family. Call the Mashomack office at 631-749-1001 for further information or e-mail us at mashomackpreserve@tnc.org.
