JDT Lab: for Carlos Lama

Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m.

Carlos Lama presents Brave Songs From The Departed, an evening of protest music devoted to the artistry of notable musicians who died in 2016.

From Prince to Bowie, Leonard Cohen to Leon Russell, Sharon Jones to George Michael, 2016 was a significant year of loss in the music world. Please join us as we celebrate their legacy (and many others) with songs of hope and dissent for this culturally challenging moment in history.

Musicians:

Carlos Lama – vocals

Kevin Foran – bass guitar

Jack Marshall – lead guitar

Christopher Walsh – piano & guitar

Sean Rafferty – drums

Carlos Lama has initiated several projects that pay tribute to iconic musicians – Cracked Actor  (David Bowie), Enophonic (Brian Eno), Hippie Rednecks (Hank Williams, Sr.) – and can be found proselytizing music on vinyl at Innersleeve Records.

Kevin Foran and Jack Marshall have been playing together for the last 10 years, and in addition to a string of successful shows with Bowie tribute band Cracked Actor, currently perform in their alt-prog-rock band Pthalo Blue.

Christopher Walsh and Sean Rafferty have been playing together on and off for the last 30 years, most recently with The Hot Pockets. Sean also plays with Stephen Talkhouse resident band The House Wreckers.
