John Holzapfel Talks to EMCA About Menhaden

The East Marion Cvic Association is hosting a two-part meeting May 30 at 10 a.m. at the East Marion Firehouse. They’ll be holding their Board of Directors election, followed by a talk by biologist John Holzapfel on the “Many Histories of Menhaden.” Menhaden — known locally as bunker — are a bony, oily fish in the same genus as sardines and anchovies, which was once the most abundant catch on the East Coast.
