Journalist Robert MacNeil speaks at Writers Speak Wednesdays

Robert MacNeil grew up and was educated in Canada. He was a journalist for forty years with, successively, Reuters News Agency, NBC News and the BBC, culminating in twenty years as Executive Editor of the MacNeil-Lehrer NewsHour on PBS.

He is the author of four novels: “Burden of Desire,” “The Voyage,” “Breaking News,” and “Portrait of Julia”; three memoirs: “The Right Place at the Right Time,” “Wordstruck” and “Looking For My Country”; and co-author of “The Story of English” and the sequel, “Do You Speak American?” He lives in New York City and Nova Scotia.

Roger Rosenblatt will lead a conversation with Mr. MacNeil in the Radio Lounge at Stony Brook Southampton, beginning at 7 p.m.
