Let’s Count Waterfowl with Tom Damiani
January 20, 2015 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Free
The New York State Waterfowl Count takes place every year in January. Tom Damiani had been doing this count, along with Rick and Linda Kedenburg, for the past 20 years or so.
We cover from Mattituck to Orient Point. All ducks, geese, loons, cormorants etc. are counted by species and all individuals seen over the course are counted as well. It usually takes 3-4 hours to complete. Most of the count is done by driving to good vantage points and counting all waterfowl seen.
Please register for the event by calling Tom Damiani at 631.375.3202 or emailing him at tdamiani3@optimum.net.
Dress warmly and wear hiking shoes.
