Maritime Film Festival at Parrish Art Museum
August 15, 2014 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm$10
Join the Parrish Art Museum for a 70-minute screening of short film selections from The Maritime Film Festival, a trifecta of oceanic, artistic, and filmmaking pursuits. Founded by sailor and artist Andrew (PORK) Poneros, the annual festival aims to explore the legacy and romanticism of creative expeditions on the water.
The primary goal of the Festival is to create an international arena for artists and filmmakers to share a deeper understanding and appreciation of our relationship with the sea.
The Maritime Film Festival includes works by seminal seafaring artists like Duke Riley and Swoon, and serves as an evolving and rapidly growing platform for the exhibition of a diverse spectrum of work unified and energized by a reverence for the sea.
This program will include a brief talk by seminal seafaring artist Duke Riley, a live musical performance, and a special sampling of Sag Harbor Rum.
