Napeague Pines Hike with EHTPS
March 1, 2014 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pmFree
Napeague is the sandy, pine-clothed isthmus that connects Montauk to the rest of the South Fork. Walt Whitman called it “cheerless.” But you will come to appreciate the subtle beauty of these pitch pine woods. A moderate paced, eight mile hike. Bring food and liquids. Weather does not cancel. Meet on the south side of Napeague Meadow Road off Route 27, at curve where dirt driveway turns off to lead to the LIPA electric substation. Leader Rick Whalen 631-267-6608 or 631-275-8539
