Paddle the Old Ice Pond at Quogue Wildlife Refuge

Paddling Quogue Ice Pond

Explore Old Ice Pond via Kayak or Canoe during a self guided paddle, or join up with a QWR Educator to learn about the history, and flora and fauna. Observe the various species of freshwater fish, turtles, and birds which live in and around this 100+ year old pond that was originally created for ice harvesting for the Quogue Ice Company. Pack a picnic lunch to enjoy after your paddle. A scavenger hunt/ID chart will be available. A program for adults and families. Reservations and pre-payment required as space is limited.

This program will be weather dependent. Single kayaks, double kayaks, and canoes will be available for reservation by calling 653-4771. Reservations and payment required in advance. $10.00 per person. Space is limited, so reserve early.
