“Pollock’s Champions” at the Pollock-Krasner House

August 3, 2014 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

$5

From July 31 through October 31, the Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center will present “Pollock’s Champions,” an exhibition examining the influence of the three art dealers — Peggy Guggenheim, Betty Parsons, and Sidney Janis — who represented Jackson Pollock during his life.

Organized by guest curator Bobbi Coller, Ph.D., this is the first exhibition to deal with the crucial role played by the artist’s representatives in shaping his reputation and career.

There will be an opening and panel discussion Aug. 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. with Peggy Guggenheim’s granddaughter, Karole Vail; Betty Parsons’ nephew, Billy Raynor; and Sidney Janis’s son Carroll Janis.
