Reflextions in Riverhead’s Grangebel Park

Riverhead takes the lead on Creative Placemaking on Long Island with a spectacular “light art” installation of immersive reflective art and sculpture along the Peconic River in Downtown Riverhead.  Reflextionreturns to Grangebel Park for another evening of wonder on Saturday, October 20th.  The popup installation is a walkable gallery through various forms of light art – sculptures incorporating LED lights, reflective materials, luminescents and fire along with a walk through a black light mural.  Admission to the outdoor gallery is free and available all day on Saturday, October 20th with illumination at dusk from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Over 5,000 people have attended the first two nights of the event in August 2018, and the 2ndLighting event in September.

Curated by Clayton Orehek, this year’s exhibit includes work by Orehek, Eli Fishman (a resident Long Island Aquarium artist), Ava Reese, Daphnie Shuttleworth, Judy Richardson, Bob Kern, Bryan DeLuca, Cruz, Heather Muth, Kathy Muth, Nitin Mukul, Michael Zinn, and others.  

Musical performance October 20th will be by local high schoolers ROADTRIP.

This Art in the Park event is hosted by the Riverhead Business Improvement District and made possible by sponsorship from PSEG Long Island, I LOVE NY, Triple Five Real Estate, Tanger Outlets, The Timothy Hill Ranch, Riverhead Chamber of Commerce and many local organizations and community businesses.
