BETTE AND DALE’S ORGANIC PRODUCE
Meet Bette and Dale in person!
“This visually rich documentary chronicles the history of Bette and Dale’s organic farming life together. Filmed over the period of one farming season at their East Hampton and Sag Harbor farms, we learn of Dale’s pioneering and innovative organic farming techniques begun in 1970. This short film is a timely and touching partnership with nature and each other.” After the film meet Bette Lacina and Dale Haubrich. Dale grew up on his family’s farm in Ames, Iowa. He began his career as an organic farmer in 1978. Haubrich and Lacina plant thousands of seedlings each spring, producing over eighty varieties of vegetables and fruits on less than two acres. They sell a wide diversity of crops at the Sag Harbor Farmers Market and their stand on the Sag Harbor/Bridgehampton Turnpike and also provide produce to local restaurants. They will be delighted to discuss organic farming and answer questions about cultivating organic produce.
