“The Marion Lake Story,” by Emmy Award-winning director and East End local resident Greta Schiller, will be screened at the Floyd Memorial Library in an event co-sponsored by the North Fork Audubon Society.

This film tells a compelling tale of an ecological crisis averted: the degradation — and gradual restoration — of an 18-acre lake in East Marion being choked to death by the highly invasive reed, the australis phragmite.

The film follows a local community coming together to save the lake and restore it to a bio-diverse habitat for native flora and fauna.
