Dual Language Project

This week, students from the Southampton Intermediate School participating in the Dual Language Project present their final performance 375: Our story, our history Nuestra historia, somos la historia. The program is a yearly opportunity for students in the area to participate in creative work in English and Spanish.

This year’s Dual Language Project celebrates the 375th Anniversary of the Town of Southampton. Join us for an afternoon of inspired poetry, art and song in multiple languages. The 5th grade students in the Dual Language Program at Southampton Intermediate School have been exploring their ancestors’ cultures and personal stories of immigration and integrating them with Southampton’s history. They have worked  with Watermill Teaching Artists Makram Hamdan and Andrea Cote and Artist-in-Residence Helene Patarot, to create a multi-media experience for the audience. Please join us at The Watermill Center for 375: Our story, our history Nuestra historia, somos la historia this Friday from 1:00-2:15 pm. Tickets are not required.

Thank you to all of those who came out and supported our Young Artist Residency Program last month. View photos from their special performance HERE.
