Story Circle Workshop: USDAC People’s State of the Union

January 27, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

What is the state of our union? Share YOUR stories at the Parrish in a People’s State of the Union Story Circle, initiated by the artists’ collective, “U.S. Department of Arts and Culture”.

Be it a story of when you felt a sense of belonging (or the opposite) to this nation, a time you broke barriers to connect with someone different than you, or an experience that gave you insight into the state of our union, your story should be shared!

Stories from Circles held nationwide will be uploaded to an online story portal where they can be shared. Then, inspired by these stories, an invited group of poets will collaboratively compose the Poetic Address to the Nation performed and broadcast live from the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco on March 11.

Poets from the East End will be invited to compose poems from these stories, and perform them at the Parrish at a later date. Stay tuned!

Space is limited; advance registration required.
