The HooDoo Loungers, Mamalee Rose & Friends and Lilly Ann Merat play Guild Hall

August 18, 2016 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

$25 – $40

Thursday, August 18 at 8pm

Expect to see a show finale featuring five of the East End’s finest voices ( Mamalee, Rose, Dawnette Darden, Lilly Ann Merat & Marvin Joshua) together for a rousing Gospel stomp-down

The HooDoo Loungers are a nine-piece band performing music inspired by the rhythms, sounds, history and spirit of New Orleans. The band’s sound encompasses traditional New Orleans Jazz, Brass Band, classic R&B and funk – plus a blend of original music and re-arranged New Orleans classics. The HooDoo’s perform a high energy and highly entertaining show that will please young and old alike. Since it’s formation in 2008, the HooDoo’s have performed at numerous  festivals and concerts along the East Coast and Mid-West

Mamalee Rose and Friends is a six-member band out of East Hampton NY. They are unique in the fact that they have two dynamic lead vocalists that are a mother (Lee Lawler) and daughter (A.Rose Lawler) team. As if that’s not enough, the husband and father (Jimmy Lawler) is the drummer, with Peter (Bosco) Michne on guitar, Josh Brussell on bass and Manhattan’s own Fred Gilde on kickin’ keyboard, who all contribute to supporting vocals. They have a distinctive sound that is all their own. Mamalee comes from a gospel/blues background, and the daughter Rose is influenced by that, but adds her own musical background of soulful and powerful vocal interpretations. Together they blend to create a strong balanced sound. From originals to R&B, soul, rock and standards they have a diverse reputation for whatever venue they play. Their live shows are a joy to hear and to watch.
