The Miró Quartet at the Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival

Among the truly great quartets performing today, the Miró stand out for their vibrant playing style and deeply musical interpretations. Their program opens with Haydn’s famous “Fifths” quartet, whose masterly invention is as alive today as when it was written in 1796. Copland’s charming Rondino is a miniature study in counterpoint and jazzy rhythms, while Schubert’s monumental G major quartet is one of the most majestic statements ever to be penned for four voices.
