The New Jim Crow – a Community Dialogue, is sponsored by Racial Justice East End. Please join our discussion of Michelle Alexander’s book, “The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Color Blindness.” This will be the first in a four-part series, providing an entrance in Alexander’s masterful work and fostering community discussion on mass incarceration. The next three meetings will go into the book in greater detail..
Racial Justice East End is a community of local organizations and individuals dedicated to encouraging reflection and action on racial justice issue. The group began over winter with “The Struggle & The Dream,” a three-part series on Ta-Nehisi Coates writings – Between the Word & Me and A Case for Reparations. Temple Adas Israel, the Unitarian Universalists Congregation of the South Fork, and Canio’s Cultural Cafe are members of Racial Justice East End.
The next discussion will be held on Sunday, July 17 at 4 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the South Fork on the Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike.
