The Shortest Day — The Winter Solstice for Kids at SoFo
Program Leader: Eleni Nikolopoulos, South Fork Natural History Museum (SoFo) Nature Educator. A program for ages 6-8.
December 21 marks the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. Let’s celebrate this day with a delightful book, Wendy Pfeffer’s The Shortest Day. We’ll discuss what happens on this day, and why the winter solstice is so special. After our story and discussion, we’ll draw some nighttime pictures to mark, and remember, this special day! Material fee $3.
Advance reservations are required for all SoFo events, which are free for SoFo members, $7.50 for child non-members and $10 for adult non-members. For more information, reservations, and directions to meeting places, please call: 631.537.9735.
