Warbler Wave Walks With North Fork Audubon
May 27, 2014 @ 8:00 am - 9:00 pm
Free
Each May brings flowers and the jewels of the forest. That is, neo-tropical passerine migrants, better known as Wood Warblers. Of the many species of warbler, some stay here on the North Fork to breed, but most travel through and disappear into the north country arcadia of New York State, New England & Canada. For this reason NFAS has a walk every Tuesday in the month of May.
You never know where warblers and other migrating feather bearers might show up in numbers, but we will find out and go where the birds are. Every week we’ll check out a different location and hopefully have a good spring migration. Pray for winds out of the west!
The walks will be held May 6, 13, 20, 27 at 8 a.m. Meet at the Red House Nature Center at Inlet Pond County Park. Please call 631.275.3202 or email tdamiani3@optimum.net to register for this walk with Tom Damiani.
