William Porter Art Opening at Town & Country Southold

Painter William Porter is a third-generation professiona artist and native of Long Island who follows in the steps of his grandfather, Hank Porter, who was a depression-era Disney animator and his father, gordon Porter, who was also an illustrator.
From a young age, William Porter was surrounded by the “working artitss” and decided to pursue fine art painting. He was sternly warned of the perils of fine art, but after three decades he is still at it and more dedicated than ever. Mr. Porter’s credo is “pure passion is the driver — and the absolute devotion to the experience and the life of pursuing beauty through form and color, and the utterly jaw-dropping show that nature continues to display.”
Mr. Porter studied painting at the Art Students League as well as privately for five years in the early 1980s. He lived and painted for many years in the southwestern United States, before coming to the North Fork to paint a commission in 2011 and recognizing this very special slice of paradise we call the East End.

A wine and cheese reception will be held on Friday, June 20 from 5 to 7 p.m.
The show will be on display from June 20 through July 30.
