Winter Benefit for Maureen’s Haven Homeless Shelter Network

Maureen’s Haven will host its first winter benefit and celebration on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 at Seasons of Southampton, 15 Prospect Street in Southampton from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $50 and are available online at winterbenefit.brownpapertickets.com.
Maureen’s Haven Homeless Shelter program, the only homeless advocacy group on the East End, provides shelter, supportive service and compassionate care for individuals in need at more than 20 houses of worship throughout the East End. The program has l,500 volunteers who respond to the unique needs of the more than 300 people who seek help from Maureen’s Haven each season.
The Maureens Haven day center, Kay Kidde Achievement Center, located at 28 Lincoln Street in Riverhead, offers respite and a sense of community for Maureen’s Haven guests, who can come in for a hot meal, get fresh clothing, and receive assistance through case management and counseling.
The Day Center is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from April through October. During the winter months, the Day Center is also open on weekends from 3 to 7 p.m. and has extended hours during the week. The Day Center offers GED preparation, computer skills, financial management, daily living skills, job listings, training opportunities, resume preparation, and “Dress for Success.”
