In Flanders Fields: Music for Voice & Piano at Rogers Memorial Library

November 10, 2015 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free

In Flanders Fields with Kate Hurney, soprano & Katherine Addleman, piano
Description:
Although World War I was a dreadful and destructive time for the people of all nations involved, it spawned a great variety of musical responses, many of which are considered musically exceptional and relevant. Join us for an hour-long recital of works by Debussy, Stravinsky, and Ives, along with several more popular pieces of music which more directly suggest how people used songs to help them cope with great anxiety caused by the war. Refreshments will be served.
