Opening Reception for Chris Hamilton’s Baymen’s Display at East End Seaport Museum
June 23, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
$5
Chris will be unveiling the Museum’s new Bay Men’s Display, which he created with the help of his father, local bay man, Bob Hamilton. He will also be sharing his unique perspective, through images captured while working aboard the fishing vessel Jeremy H. Chris’ presentation will include discussion of various topics including the evolution of the fishing industry on the North Fork, growing up the son of a fisherman, reconnecting with his roots as a bay man after the death of his brother, and finding his passion for photography.
Chris’s story is one of love and loss, honor and respect, soul searching and redemption. He ultimately hopes to inspire others with his photography, and bring a heightened awareness to the importance of respecting and preserving our natural resources and heritage here on the East End.
