“The Spy Who Came In From the Cold,” based on the book of the same name by John Le Carre, is an edge-of-the-seat spy thriller about a British agent sent to East Germany to spread disinformation to the East Germans during a time when the cold war was raging.
The book came out in 1963; the movie in 1965. British agent Alec Leamas, played by Richard Burton, refuses to come in from the Cold War during the 1960s, chosing to face another mission, which may prove to be his final one.
This screening is part of the Floyd Memorial Library’s winter film festival series.
