The Greenport Farmers’ Market is promising to be bigger and better in its 8th Season, when it holds its grand opening on June 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Expanded opportunities to showcase local specialty produce and culinary delights, along with flowers and other complementary products will make the North Fork’s only Farmers’ Market the social hub of summer.

Vendors are welcome to apply to participate in this curated gathering at the Polo Fields on Moore’s Lane, with plenty of parking. The market, which had been in the Adams Street parking lot and at the former Greenport United Methodist Church, moved to the Moore’s Lane polo field in the fall of 2017.

This year’s market will run weekly through Oct. 27, 2018. Vendors include local farmers and artisans who produce vegetables, flowers, dairy, wool products, wine, eggs, baked goods, snacks, homemade body products, and more.

The following vendors have already been selected and confirmed for 2018: Catapano Farms, Surrey Lane Farm and Orchard, Greenport Jerky Company, Simply Nicki Nut Butters, Alice’s Fish Market, Wake and Bake Products and 63 South Chill Street Ice Cream.

Programming will include food demonstrations, acoustic music, educational workshops & opportunities for non-profits to inspire support & volunteers. Farmers’ Markets serve as the agora or public square for our modern lives, in addition to a fun way to secure quality products.
