Greenport Halloween Village Returns

The Greenport Business Improvement District’s 6th Annual Greenport Halloween Village, in collaboration with the Village of Greenport, will turn this seaport town into a haunted Halloween Village on Oct. 25.

The day is filled with opportunities for family adventure.

The day kicks off with the Village of Greenport’s 13th Annual Halloween Parade at 11 a.m. The parade line-up is at 10:30 at the Floyd Memorial Library.

March along with all the Goblins and Ghouls and The North Fork Academy of Dance, as they follow the Greenport Fire Department’s decorated fire engine down Main Street and Front Street to Mitchell Park.

The Friends of Mitchell Park. with the support of Greenport Village, will sponsor rides at the recently restored Carousel. Rides are free for children aged 12 and under from 11:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

From noon to 3 p.m., Greenport BID Village Businesses will host Trick or Treat for all hobgoblins and witches. The Greenport BID will again sponsor “The Teal Pumpkin Project,” with non-food Treats for those with allergies or an option to choose a less sugary treat.

The frightening (but fun) Scavenger Hunt returns with “Bats, Black Cats and Things That Go Bump in the Night.”  Both children and adults will make their way around the Village and find the numbered Bats, Black Cats and Other Halloween ghoulies in windows, displays and just about anywhere.

Return the completed forms to the Blue Duck Bakery for a chance to win a great prize.

Forms can be found around the village and at https://greenportvillage.com/event/halloween-village/

A Special Guest, “Lizzie Borden,” a.k.a. Lisa A. Dabrowski, will present Lizzie’s tale at 1:30 p.m. at the Blue Duck Bakery Courtyard at 130 Front Street. Did she Kill her Father and Stepmother with an Axe in 1892? Was it 40 whacks, or 41? Find Out! This is NOT suitable for young children. Adults and Older Children are welcome.

The North Fork Arts Center at The Sapon Theater will hold a special Halloween showing of “Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit” at 2 p.m. Matinees Saturday and Sunday.

Plenty of restaurants and food establishments will be open for nibbles and boos for adult phantoms and their little beasts, with many Halloween themed foods, goodies, and specialty drinks for the unafraid.

The rain date for the event is Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025. For more information, visit www.greenportvillage.com
