The River & Roots Community Garden in downtown Riverhead Tuesday morning.

Well…it isn’t snowing nearly enough to rescue East End kids from their classrooms for an afternoon of snowball fights and mischief, but a little bit did stick to the ground here in Riverhead this morning.

While the National Weather Service isn’t predicting any more snow for today, a freeze warning is in effect for tonight. Bring all your tomatoes and eggplants and squash and whatnot inside tonight and shut off all your hose bibs. This is the real deal!
