Good Morning!

• It will be sunny today, with a high temperature near 52 degrees and a northwest wind 6 to 10 miles per hour. We’re expecting areas of frost overnight, with partly cloudy skies and a low around 34. Thursday will be partly sunny, with a high near 53 and Friday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 53.

• It was a clean sweep for incumbent town supervisors throughout the East End election night, while in Southold the polls shifted toward the Democrats. Read Our Full Election Coverage.

Local governments get back to work today, with town boards holding budget hearings and other meetings normally held on Tuesday rescheduled for today because of Election Day.

• The Southold Town Board will discuss the town’s comprehensive plan, film and special events permits, short-term rentals in business RO zones and updates from the town’s transportation and water committees at its 9 a.m. work session this morning. • The Riverhead Town Board holds a hearing on the town’s proposed 2022 budget at a 2 p.m. regular meeting this afternoon. Here’s the agenda, and the meeting can be viewed live here.

Suffolk County reported 192 new cases of Covid-19 on Monday, Nov. 1, with 2.7 percent of people tested testing positive. There were 133 people hospitalized with the virus in the county, with 30 of them in ICU. The county reported one new fatality from the virus, bringing the death toll here to 3,635 people.
