We’re expecting cloudy skies through mid-morning today, then gradual clearing, with a high temperature near 49 degrees and a south wind 6 to 11 miles per hour. It will be mostly cloudy overnight, with a low around 35. Saturday will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 51, and a 30 percent chance of showers after 8 a.m., and Sunday will be partly sunny, with a high near 47.

The Center for Advocacy, Support & Transformation (CAST) in Southold is holding a Food Rescue Heroes Match Challenge. Participants can help them raise $13,000 in required matching funds to qualify for a pre-approved NYS Department of Environmental Conservation Grant to purchase a pick-up truck and commercial freezer to support CAST’s Food Security & Nutrition and Client Support Services Priorities.  Find Out More.

• Boots on the Ground Theater’s production of “Love Letters,” originally scheduled for this weekend at the Southampton Cultural Center, has been postponed to the weekend of March 1 through March 3 due to a car accident that has hospitalized one of the lead characters, the theater company announced Thursday.
