• Showers are likely today, mostly later in the day, with a high temperature near 73 degrees and a south wind around 14 miles per hour. It will be mostly cloudy overnight, with showers tapering off and a low around 59. Skies will clear on Friday, with a high near 75. Saturday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 77.
• The George Floyd protests continue to expand and grow, with marches planned in Hampton Bays and Shelter Island on Sunday. Here are more details.
• The Southold Town Board has retained an independent investigator to launch an inquiry into a retirement party thrown May 29 for a town police officer in violation of social distancing guidelines, and into why the department did not respond to numerous complaints by the public about the party.
