• We’re expecting mostly sunny skies today, with a high temperature near 86 degrees and a calm wind becoming west 5 to 9 miles per hour in the morning. We’re expecting scattered showers before midnight tonight, with mostly cloudy skies overnight and a low around 64. Tuesday will be sunny, with a high near 78 and Wednesday will be sunny, with a high near 77.

• After hearing again from a plethora of Hampton Bays residents opposed to a 100-megawatt Battery Energy Storage System not far from the Shinnecock Canal on Aug. 8, the Southampton Town Board is slated to vote this Tuesday, Aug. 22, on a six-month moratorium on proposals for BESS systems in the town. • The Southold Town Board holds a special meeting tomorrow afternoon, Aug. 22 at 2 p.m. to discuss the town’s Affordable Housing Plan and a proposed 36-unit affordable rental complex on the Main Road in Cutchogue. • Sarah Conway & The Playful Souls perform a free outdoor concert this evening at 6:30 p.m. at the Montauk Green at 742 Montauk Highway, and Real East End Brass performs at 7:30 p.m. in Greenport’s Dancing in the Park in Mitchell Park.
